Capstone Experience

Back in August of 2021, I was hired by the College of Communication, Architecture and The Arts (CARTA) Dean's office to be a Public Relations Intern. CARTA encompasses several departments here at FIU that include: Theatre, Architecture, Communication, Journalism, Music, and Art. During my time in the office, I worked closely with CARTA's Marketing and Communication team on serval several social media campaigns. I helped work on the content that focused on promoting different events throughout the college and helping promote the initiatives of the dean and college overall. One of my biggest goals with the department's social media was to increase student engagement as well as showcase the diverse pool of students more on social media. My goal was to share their achievements and goals on our page to display the accomplishments of students within the school. I also was privileged to accompany the Dean to various events around FIU, one of those being the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lee Caplin Immersive Studio for Altered Reality also known as iStar. At this event, I was able to chat with a variety of professionals from all over the world who worked to make this VR learning opportunity for FIU students possible.
